Cougar Masonry was built the same way we build everything else, from the ground up. Based in the Wooster and Orrville area, we started with a simple idea. Do the work right, charge a fair price, and treat every property like it belongs to family. That idea has carried us across Wayne, Summit, Stark, Medina, Holmes, and Ashland Counties, one satisfied customer at a time.
We work in brick, concrete block, and both natural and cultured stone, on projects that range from a single chimney crown to complete foundations and building erections. Owner Christopher Shields is on the tools and on the phone, so the person who quotes your project is the same person who stands behind it.
Most of our work comes from referrals and repeat customers, and we intend to keep it that way. When your neighbors are your advertising, cutting corners is not an option.

Most days you will find me on a scaffold with a trowel in my hand, not behind a desk. That is on purpose.
I have been laying brick, block, and stone across Wayne, Summit, and Stark Counties for more than twenty years, working my way up from hauling mud as a teenager to running crews on some of the biggest jobs in the area. A little over a year ago I put my own name on the truck and started Cougar Masonry, because I wanted to build the way I always believed it should be done. Show up when you say you will. Quote it honest. Leave the site cleaner than you found it.
When you call Cougar Masonry, you are talking to the guy who will actually be on your job. I walk every estimate myself, I am on site while the work happens, and I put my name behind every joint we strike. My family lives here too, so the wall I build for you is one I am going to drive past for the next thirty years.
